We had an amazing class this past weekend and will have a very large blog post of images to share.  It was a hot one in Omaha this past weekend and even with the air conditioner running it felt like a tropical heat wave.  Perfect for the babies and ideal sleeping conditions but a sweat fest for all of us with cameras!

CLASS DETAILS:

                Two day large group class |  class size is limited to 15 photographers.  This class is geared for those that want as much time working on camera technique and seeing newborn posing with a variety of set-ups in a group setting.  During the two days we spend 11+ hours with 6 newborns working on camera technique, set-ups (including bean bag posing, props, hanging and handheld shots), proper use of natural light, soothing techniques with posing, and digital workflow.  Each photographer will take images at class to promote their newborn portfolio as well as to practice applying the tools learned in the Photoshop portion of class.  Attendees will receive Kelley’s black and white conversion and newborn color action for Photoshop.  Total tuition is $2100 and a $300 deposit is required to reserve your spot.

                One day small group class | class size is limited to 5 photographers.  This class is geared for those that want more individual guidance and opportunity working on camera technique and perfecting posing.  We cover all the material covered in the 2 day class with a more individualized agenda meeting the needs of each photographer.  We spend 6+ hours posing newborns and 2+ hours on digital workflow.  Attendees will receive Kelley’s black and white conversion and newborn color action for Photoshop.  Total tuition is $1900 and a deposit of $300 is required to reserve your spot.

                One day private class  | this class is offered to photographers that have already attended our baby posing class and want more opportunity to fine tune their newborn posing, camera technique and Photoshop skills.  The private class is geared to the photographers individual needs and focuses on hands-on-posing and requested set-ups.  This class is on a limited basis depending on our schedules.  Total tuition is $2000.

And I must share ‘my point of view’ from a session that Tracy and I had as we gather images for our published work.  The next book, titled Sweet Dreams will be out later this year and we are having so much fun working on this project. 

We are on the look-out for models (especially those with darker skin and ethnic backgrounds, specifically:  African American, Asian and Hispanic newborns) this summer season for outdoor set-ups.  If you are having a baby this summer or know friends or family welcoming a new little one, please have them email me at kelleyryden@gmail.com for more details.  Models must be under 2 weeks of age and these sessions will be for one set-up at an outside location.

And now on to the Oklahoma City workshop with Beth Jansen.  Tracy and I had so much fun and Beth you did a fabulous job organizing.  We will have to make it a yearly class location!! What a wonderful group of ladies (and one gent) that we taught to.  The 2 days just flew by and we met a great group to keep in touch with as they grow their skills in newborn photography.  And now on to the models and the sneak peek all our patient parents have been waiting for.  Thanks you all for bringing your little ones out for us to play with.  We are so appreciative of your time and sharing your cute bundles!

day 1 model 1, Brooks at 10 days old.  We always start the class with bean bag posing and he did great! 

day 1 model 2, Jake at 12 days old.  Such lovely chub on this big guy!  This is #4 for this Mommy and she finally got her ‘token’ boy!

day 1 model 3, Kiera at 17 days old.  She was the sleepiest of all the models.  Her parents kept her up before class and boy did that work in our favor.  Thanks much Julie and James for following the rules!

day 1 model 4, Libby at 19 days old.  Such a little peanut at just under 6 pounds at birth. 

on to day 2 and our first model, Elijah at 13 days old.  His parents were so excited to come and again followed all the rules.  His tummy was good and full and he just kept on sleeping.  He held every pose without a twitch as each of the photographers got to take their time and practice good camera technique!

day 2 model 2, Brandon at 11 days old.  He was the newborn that just kept on giving.  Prop after prop and slept thru it all.  What a treat this guy was and ever so cute!!
